  • St. Jean’s Cannery
    St. Jean’s Cannery (581b-11th Avenue) would like to remind everyone that we will be open February 2, 2010 at 10 a.m., and looking forward to serving you. Our ‘springtime’ hours are Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

    We will continue to carry our local Cortes Island oysters, clams and mussels (in shell) as well as Mac’s shucked oysters along with a good selection of our frozen salmon, halibut, lingcod, snapper, and BC spot prawns. As always, we carry a full line of St. Jean’s canned products and Gift baskets. Please come in to the store to shop, say hi or just a have a look around. Take a catalogue home to ‘catalogue shop’ while you’re relaxing with a cup of coffee or tea.

    Grow Your Employees’ Potential

    Nanci Cook and Tracy Tomlinson at Firesign Studio and B&B on Quadra Island are happy to see Spring getting closer! Many exciting painting workshops are scheduled, starting with Tracy Kobus March 20-21, a Courtenay artist and instructor at NIC who will teach "Creative Explorations" for new and more experienced artists that need a push in a new direction with their art. March 29-April 2 renowned artist Norma Jackson will teach "Art is Life-Life is Art". Only 6-7 students in each workshop, so please register now!   • Is Your Work Environment Safe?

  • Antiques & Art Appraisal Day
    March 21, 10-4pm at The Museum at Campbell River (Island Highway & 5th Ave)
    Art & antique specialists will give verbal appraisals of up to three pieces at $10 per item. This is a very popular event. Tickets on sale at the door on March 21.

    Interested in our public spaces, environment and art? Get inspired by Oliver Kellhammer, March 31st at the C.R. Art Gallery. Kellhammer has worked as land artist and urban ecological repair specialist since the mid 1980's. He has taught and lectured all over North America. The 7pm talk follows our 6:00pm AGM. All are welcome. No charge for Gallery members, $5 for non-members.
  • Still Water Books and Art - Age and Art Come to the Fore
    Still Water Books and Art has begun exploring new channels in providing a center for the arts. As of this month, a lithograph by Marcel Moreau, framed, numbered and signed by the famed French mime is on sale at our store. Further, several bound volumes of the famous Illustrated London News with their magnificent lithographs, dating from the mid 1850's, are now available. Jill Paris Rody's widely appreciated water colour paintings are now joined by several other local artists. Books are still our passion and bread and butter, but we go beyond the written arts to feature other forms and mediums of expression! Phone 923-1374.
  • Celebrating Women Art Show
    The Campbell River Women’s Centre has partnered with the Campbell River Arts Council for the 3rd Annual Celebrating Women Art Show from March 6 – 23rd at the Tidemark Public Art Gallery. Artists range from professionals to first time artists. The community is invited to the Celebrating Women Gala Event March 6th from 7 – 9 pm at the art gallery. Entrance is by donation and includes dessert, guitar and vocals featuring Freeman and Hill, the Shimmy Sisters Bellydancers, and a Silent Auction.     Myriah Foort, CA of Meyers Norris Penny has joined the Relay for Life leadership committee this year and would like to announce the Relay for Life Rally of 2010! The event is on Wednesday, March 3rd at the re-invented Ripple Rock Pub from 6:30-8:00. The evening will be filled with information and inspiration to kick off the 2010 Relay to be held on June 11th at Phoenix school!

    Everyone is welcome to attend the rally. It's a great night to come and learn about the Relay. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will be provided by the Ripple Rock from 6:30-7:30, which will compliment the Relay for Life cocktail.
